St George’s Day

This was another flat calm morning on the sea. I liked the serenity of this scene.

It was a Friday but it felt like a holiday. I think that was partly because there were people on the beach this morning who, pre Covid, would be on a flat calm beach just like this but had got there by taking a jet plane. And partly because many parents are now working from home, rather than commuting to some soulless office miles there and back. They are now using this bonus time to take their children to and from school and engage in challenging conversations en route.

Later the warmth brought out the crowds to the beach.

Later still the cloud rolled in and the chill purged the beach of all but the most hardy!
