What A Day

I had to go  out early to get a condolences card.
Last night I found out that somebody I have known for nearly 30 years and was a super mentor to me when I started photography died last week.
He had been having some serious health for the last two or three years, but it still came as a bit of a shock.

So SWMBO and I walked round and dropped off the card before going for a short walk.
It may have been a short walk but my glory did it take a long time. First we met up with an old work colleague and stood talking to him for over half an hour. Then we met up with one of the other members of the (now defunct) craft association and that was another half hour plus standing chatting.

When we eventually got home there was a cheque refunding the money I had paid to said now defunct craft association for the now not happening fairs, the new chuck key for the lathe and appoints for the 2nd dose of vaccinations for SWMBO. I then had to spend some time on the phone to get the appointments changed so that they were at the same time .... on the same day!! Talk about disorganised!

We nipped out to the bank to pay the cheque in and had to drive all round the dickie bush to find a car park that was actually open. While I stayed in the car there was a call from The Cygnet making sure that we were picking him and his sister up. It is Friday after all.

After we had collected and fed the monsters we went with them down to the park where we met up with old neighbours.
That meant a lot more standing (there are only 2 benches and hundreds of people).

When we dropped off the monsters I had to take pictures and the son-in-law for new driving licences - they look like the sort of shits I used to have to take at work. After taking them I asked what size they needed to be printed out, so son-in-law checked ... and they didn't need them. It turns out the DVLA use the passport photo for renewals ... and the passport office use the driving licences ones. So you could get to 90 and still look like a 20 year old on your official documents which are used for identification!

Now I am dosed up on painkillers and anti-inflammatories  and needing my bed.
Hopefully things will have calmed down by tomorrow.

Blossom pictures, Squirrel looking cool whilst hanging around (literally), a cat (well - the dogs got the limelight yesterday) and the criminals are over Here
