Azulejos

A jam-packed day at work, then I was on a panel discussion as a guest speaker (admittedly the seminar is organized by rory - nepotism at its finest!), and then straight to an art exhibition!

It took 10 minutes of mooching around the room of azulejos before we looked closer and found octopus tentacles, mushroom clouds and skeletons hidden in the traditional Portuguese designs! Almost every tile had already been sold, they were really beautiful.

My friend Margarida was an excellent guide and took us to a great brewery afterwards. I’m really glad to be friends with her, she is teaching us a lot of interesting things. Her mum runs a foster home and her dad is a judge - rory and I couldn’t contribute much more than a good knowledge of Tracey beaker on the topic haha!
