A Dry April

This afternoon I walked through the woods in the bright spring sunshine. Many of the trees are still not in leaf and the paths are dry and dusty. The vegetation that would normally be carpeting the woodland floor is sparse and patchy. The water level in the River Plym is very low and there are so far very few bluebells. What we now need is some rain!
