Humbugs

In the water! 

The beautiful little humbugs followed mum into the lake whilst the parents exchange the duties.This happens about every three hours and the parents are so alike that you never know which is which. 

I rocked up to get the evening light on the nest - you see - I'm learning if nothing else! She sits with her back to the sun and that's logical but I was rewarded by the chicks getting wet for a plouter around very closely guarded near the nest. Loved seeing this and spent a good deal of time giggling down the lens at the antics of the babes.

Met 'birders' here I'd met on the hill days before and they are a friendly bunch. Everyone wants to talk now we are allowed out!
