Plaza d'Espagna from the balcony

This semicircular plaza, measuring 170 by 100 meters, has both a fountain and a stream that is crossed by small bridges. There are pavilions with galeries over columns and two 80 meter tall towers. It served as the symbol and central axis of the Latin American Expo of 1929. It was built between 1913 and 1928 by Anibal González, an architect known for his use of the regionalist Sevillian style.

We went to this Plaza d'Espagna early this morning, after a short visit at the beautiful University - formerly an Old Tobacco Factory.

At the Plaza, sitting in the pavilion of Burgos, we've made some pics of both of us with the camera in one hand focused on ourselves, very funny.
In the one you see here, my friend N is still sitting there, reading in her book. I'm upstairs on a balcony, making this pic.

Later I walked through the Parque de Maria Luisa. I was touched by the beauty of the trees and diversity of gardening styles, picturesque spots and romantic areas with Spanish Arab influences.
