Today is Earth Day
What better day to be making the pilgrimage across the Nullarbor and The Bight .
This is quite a moving photo if you interpret the cross for Earth Day.
The landscape is awesome in its expansiveness and the flat earth horizons with sparse low growth vegetation on red soil.
The disconcerting thing was despite all the road warning signage for both native animals and camels there was very limited sign of wildlife. I spotted two lizards and one snake crossing the Highway all day.
Is the landscape becoming uninhabitable for our ancient species I dread to think. That is just our observation for many hours on the road including dawn and dusk.
The two extra photos are a bit more cheery as WW managed to find a golf course called Wombat Hole at Nundroo on the Nullarbor . Par one - but Walking Wombat couldn’t work out where she had to tee off from :)
