An adventure today :) At 24 miles, the furthest we’ve been since March 19th last year. That was Arnside too.
It didn’t matter that the sun wasn’t shining or that we were too early for the well known chip shop. We got parked easily and took a flask of coffee. We remembered the binoculars but birds were scarce. I’ve been longing for a trip to the seaside for many months and though there’s no sandy beach here and the tide was going out it was a wonderful change.
We were home by lunch time and did some garden birdwatching. Two new visitors today . . . a male and female siskin. I saw the male first and thought it was a greenfinch but the black head wasn’t right. I remember when we first moved here we had siskins but that was a long time ago. Good to see them again.
There's a train on the viaduct in extras.
