Buds on the apple tree

Hopefully we'll get more apples this year to share with my cousin BeachesDoogie and Impy, who sent me this tree as a joke for my birthday a couple of years ago. Hopefully they'll be able to travel over sometime soon to see how well the tree is growing!
G had a couple of things to do in town, so I went along to buy some flower starters. Not many varieties available, but I got a few marigolds, petunias and geraniums and will plant them in pots tomorrow. Apparently a better selection will be available soon, so I'll check again when we do our regular Friday shop. Looking forward to seeing colour in the garden. I think the swallows have started building a nest in the nesting box that G cleaned out a few days ago, and they also seem to be looking for other nesting places. Such lovely birds to watch.
