Grain in the rain......

Dry again.
Yesterday's calf hadn't sucked the cow again so had to put her in the crush and eventually managed to get it to suck some from a back teat( not tit ,Littlemissquirk !)
Not before she managed to kick my shin and scrape a good lot of skin off it though. A few sweary words later we were back in business again.
Next job was to take Ross and go and repair a stretch of the march fence that had keeled over, between my cows and next door farms horses.
No doubt there will be a few more stobs needing replaced before long. They don't last like they used to when they were all treated with proper creosote.
Managed to get the calf to eventually suck both working tits tonight so getting there slowly.
It came on rain on tonight's dog plod. The barley is needing it anyway. This field wasn't through yesterday morning, but by tonight you can read the drills in most of it. All we need now is some heat
