River view

Bangkok is a city full of contrasts. Skyscrapers rub shoulders with shanty towns, penthouses and sleeping areas beneath railway bridges can be seen from a riverboat trip. It costs just 15 baht for a half hour public boat ride 10 stops downstream, with all the ensuing entertainment. That's about 30p. Our search for lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves in the market was successful, and we celebrated in our favourite spot with two ice cold mango shakes, £1.10 each. Many of these things will be sorely missed on our return. Especially the temperature....and sunshine. It's going to be difficult, but looking forward to the daffodils!!!
