Chaffinch Convention

The splendid spring weather of the past few days came to an abrupt end today and I didn't feel inclined to venture out into the cold in search of a blip. Instead I set the camera up on the tripod looking out the kitchen window in hope of an interesting bird blip.

Nothing spectacular or rare showed up, but I was impressed by the sheer number of chaffinches feeding on the lawn. We have seen far more of them this year than usual.
