Sally Mair - Loving life

Sanguinaria - blood root

I first came across this beautiful little plant on blip and managed to track some down, I think it was Anna who blipped it. It seems to like this dark little corner in a raised bed outside the bedroom window. I think this is its third or fourth year and it is starting to spread out, just a little. I've put the whole bed into the extra, it's a lovely sight in the mornings, very peaceful somehow. There's my dicentra (bleeding heart) , hellebore, Scilla, grape hyacinth, various primula, sanguinaria, fritillary, there's even a snowdrop still at the back although the crocus have finished.

Another hot and sunny day today, nice not to have anything major to do in the garden so we just relaxed. Sandy came to visit and if was lovely to catch up with her. First time we have seen her in almost a year I think. My fortnightly reunion group was this afternoon and then it was time to go and pick up the girls. We had a lovely time with them - mince and tatties for tea always goes down well and we had fresh fruit salad - very healthy, and a meringue - very unhealthy, for pudding. I had also made some peanut butter cookies much to Eilidh's delight.

Isobel amused me as she was doing her teeth at bedtime and I was brushing her hair, she told me I was a bit strict (4 years old she is)! I thought I was putty in her hands! I do wonder if she knows what it means.
Stay safe everybody, I'm hoping to see a blue envelope this week.
