Kaikoura Coast Dolphins

Having spent the night camping just south of Kaikoura, we'd planned a morning paddle before heading back to Christchurch. We really got dealt the winning card over this one - there were literally hundreds of dolphins travelling down the coast, and back up again, leaping and somersaulting, splashing and cavorting. To be amongst them in our kayaks was a special event we simply hadn't anticipated. They loved forming a squadron around each of our boats while we were paddling too. We were absolutely entranced. It's a shame I can only post one pic!
