These red deer are around a lot in the field and woods at the moment. 

Nor sure why they're still down now its warmed up, the grass is coming through, patches of woodland for cover, plenty of water  and there's only the slightest chance of getting shot. 

Over the winter the big herds got pretty smart about being where the hill sheep were because they were having feed put out so possibly that, while there's sheep/horses in the field.    
Possibly pregnant and wanting the protection of the woods. 
Possibly just come to have a chat with the not wild red deer who live on the other side of the fence just out of shot.
