Birthday Greetings .

Bramble always likes to play her part in family celebrations .
We did a family quiz this afternoon in honour of Isaac’s thirtieth although the two little ones were the stars of the show . Each person created 5 questions on their chosen theme , it worked really well and made space for us to hang out together and watch the children play .

Bramble was perkier today , she has been uncomfortable for sometime and so we took her back to the vet on Friday . Osteoarthritis is the likely culprit and the vet has prescribed anti inflammatories that she will probably need to take for the rest of her life . He did a blood test to check that her liver and kidneys were working normally to ensure that she would be ok taking them them long term . The blood test results were back within a couple of hours .
This is in contrast to my dad who was at the hospital with a suspected Thrombosis in his leg . He has had a difficult few weeks with one thing after another .He also needed blood tests but his took 48 hours to come back . The staff wanted to admit him but after his last hospital experience plus the fact that an overnight stay means he has to spend 14 days in isolation my brother ( Joe Silvertongue as we now call him ) managed to negotiate for dad to be treated as an outpatient with the family taking responsibility for transporting him backwards and forwards . What a relief!
The blood thinners caused the bleeding but without them he is prone . According to the consultant the old fashioned Warfarin is a better bet but involves more monitoring . Having paid his taxes all this years without needing the NHS he is certainly starting to get his money’s worth .

The sun continues to shine , the air has been warm all day and I have managed to plant out a host of seeds and bulbs , all bee friendly . Plus I managed to do a yoga session at the start of the day !
The house has been vacuumed , surfaces cleared and wiped and all is ready for LBB to come and play tomorrow.
