A sorry mess
Our fortnightly vegetable drop sometimes presents a real challenge.
For the second time, we received a bag of wild garlic leaves.
The first time, I made a wild garlic pesto which was so potent it stung every surface that it touched. I threw the whole sorry pasta dish away.
This time I blanched it in boiling water, combined with some strange leaves also in the vegetable box, and made a sort of Bubble & Squeak. With mashed potatoes. Potatoes also in the box.
Once again it was a failure, in spite of the poached goose egg perched on top.
We are so over wild garlic leaves.
And now it's time to leave the kitchen…
