King’s Beach

Martin and I went and did a quick shop first thing. It was so convenient being able to take the shopping to the car, load it up and drive home! Something we haven’t done for 15 years. Not complaining, just stating how normal it all feels.

Once we had put the supplies away, the boys were ready to go out and so we headed down to King’s Beach, the beach we’re actually staying at.

We had delicious barramundi, salad and chips by the sea. We sure felt the intensity of the sun’s heat, but enjoyed the fresh, unpolluted air and breeze from the sea.

Our niece Amanda, husband and three kids came and met up with us. It was soooo good to see them again. Jon, Ben and I haven’t met any of her kids, they’ve all been born in the last 5 years. Lovely time with them at the water fountain and then I treated them all to ice cream.

Once we said our goodbyes, we headed up to Mudjimba to see Bruce and Jenny again and two of my other nieces and their kids. A wonderful family reunion, lots of kids! Jon and Ben are coping well. Jon said he’s struggling to remember all their cousin’s kid’s names, I’m sure he’ll get there.

Feels wonderful to be with the Aussie family again. There are 31 of us in total, and we’re planning a big family get together next Sunday, which also happens to Anzac Day.
