Cautious optimism

It was a beautiful, chilly morning. I completed a chatty 5K with Sally and then caught up.with Elaine and Jim. Jim has found that his arthritis has worsened over lockdown but managed to walk 2K today. I imagine he will pay a painful price for it over the next few days though.

My own arthritis has also worsened and there is rarely a moment when the pain doesn't bother me these days either.

The mobile van business has put in an application to set up a more permanent base in the hut that we currently use as a meeting point for our parkrun. Elaine and I were discussing our mixed feelings about it and why the junior event has yet to be given permission to restart when another parkrunner joined us. It transpired that he is also a Councillor and works in health and safety. We are hoping he might be able to help get the various consents signed off.

Spent a few hours in discussion about replacement glass. Hoping next winter the house will be warmer.

The afternoon and evening included wine and jigsaws.
