There are (as I have mentioned before, I'm sure) a few Carrion Crow/Hooded Crow crosses in Edinburgh (especially in Leith). In most of Britain the all-black carrion crow is the only species seen, with the hoodie being dominant in Ireland and the West Highlands (and most of Northern Continental Europe). No idea why they pop up here, but they are quite a fine looking crow.

I vaguely remember that the two types may have been given full species status now, but I'm too tired to look it up. Anyway, Meles is home :)
