Lambs
We've escaped from home for a night for the first time since last August - and it's legal! We drove to Cheshire today for the interment of my Mum-in-Law's ashes tomorrow in the Garden of Remembrance at the church she attended for many years in Macclesfield: after her death in February last year we just managed to squeeze in her funeral service about 3 days before Lockdown #1 but it's not proved possible to arrange the interment until now. I guess we could have managed it as a day trip but it's more relaxing to stay overnight and we discovered that hotel stays are legal "for those attending a funeral or commemorative event". So here we are.
After we arrived we had a lovely walk over "The Hollins" on the edge of the town. That walk brings back memories for both of us. During our many stays with Mum-in-Law over the 40 years of our marriage (and counting!) I very often went for a morning run over the Hollins, but for my Editor it holds a special place as she often used to go for family walks there when she was a child.
We were delighted to see lots of very young lambs in the fields on our walk and these two twins posed very nicely for their photo - strangely they seemed very little bothered by our presence. As for the two lambs (presumably also twins) in the extra...well one of them did seem a little frisky!
