Anemone

The sunshine of the last few days has given us a nice show of Anemones, and thinking about previous years, there'll be yet more to come.

We had a trip to Canon Hall this morning even though we knew it would be busy ........ and it was.  We still had a lovely walk along the river but the changes they've made during lock-down are not changes we appreciate.  It's always just been the house, the parkland and river and yet families always flocked there and children seemed to enjoy just being outside running about and seeing the birds and the animals on the farm.  Today saw the addition of a play area full of swings and rides all painted every colour under the sun, and as we rounded the bend I saw three giant swans -  they were manmade swan boats, awful things, each seating about a dozen people and so out of place.  "Improvements" like this are so disappointing to say the least but I expect it's all part of getting older and being out of step with the younger generation.
