Owl clock
A friend asked me to look at a clock he had as a child which has been gathering dust for many years. It is at least 70 years old and probably older. He asked me if it could be made to go. I have improvised a few things just to test if it is a viable repair, fashioning a pendulum and adding some extra weight. I do not have the wherewithal to do a full restoration here. It could be made to work without stripping it down but that would be something of a bodge. He may decide just to run it without the pendulum to make the owl’s eyes move backwards and forwards but then of course it will not keep time.
Friends came round for lunch and we had a very pleasant meal which took up most of the afternoon.
