Testing.
You have probably heard of a rise in a certain variant in some London boroughs. We live on the edge of one of those boroughs and it was suggested that we got tested. On our journey home yesterday I was busy trying to book us a place. I managed to book mine this morning, Lucy had already booked hers and Mr Cs is on Monday.
We were asked to take I.D but it wasn’t required and they also didn’t check that you had booked. I queued for about 20 minutes and the testing was very much like the lateral flow test that I regularly do. The swab was larger and is put into a phial of liquid, sealed in a bag and sent off. Once home I registered the details and await the results. I would be gobsmacked if it was positive as I don’t go out in the borough... not even to the local supermarket. I also did my lateral flow test which was negative.
My test was booked for this venue. A grade I listed house that once had gardens landscaped by Capability Brown. It is now in the middle of a housing estate and is a hall of residence for the local university.
Lucy had hers booked at a local leisure centre and the parking isn’t great and expecting her venue to be busier than mine I offered to drop her off and pick her up. A minute after I had dropped her she rang to say the queue was small so I parked up nearby, watching out for traffic wardens, and collected her once she was finished.
We have just finished watching the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral. A lovely service indeed.
