Blue Bottle...with Daffodils
I was very pleased the day I found this bottle buried in the moss in the woods near the house. I know it's not really that old...but it's blue. And it's free, which I'm a big fan of.
I'm already feeling a bit wistful about spring vacation coming to an end, and it only just started about five hours ago. That's what I get for listening to Simon and Garfunkel on the car ride home.
As a kid we didn't have that many records in the house. My parents generally listened to classical music on public radio. We did have a few Simon and Garfunkel albums though, so they were imprinted in my mind at a young age. One obvious tune often gets some air play this time of year. Strange how it only get better as you get older.
April, come she will
When streams are ripe and swelled with rain
May, she will stay
Resting in my arms again
June, she'll change her tune
In restless walks she'll prowl the night
July, she will fly
And give no warning to her flight
August, die she must
The autumn winds blow chilly and cold
September, I'll remember
A love once new has now grown old
April Come She Will, by Simon and Garfunkel
