Like a New Millennium

Heading out to visit my friend Tim socially for the first time in nearly a year felt both wonderful and odd at the same time. We’ve done a good job of complying with lockdown and keeping in contact with friends and family digitally but we’ve been in seclusion so long, I’d completely forgotten what it was like just to be physically present with someone I’m close to apart from my husband. Our lunch outdoors was lovely, I couldn’t have enjoyed being with Tim more, and the simple pleasure of merely spending real world time together (the Prosecco was an added bonus) reminded me more than ever just how much I delight in (and need) my friends.
