Plaza Concordia
Posting early for me, but I met a real person this morning for coffee on Plaza Concordia! I was so excited that I forgot to take a photo of my friend Mila, but took the square after she left! We met, had a little wander and then had coffee. Our conversation went from grey hair, haircuts, vaccinations, technology, people's grumpiness during those pandemic days, education, the power of walking, teenagers' separation anxiety from their phones, and more. The most unusual topic though, by far, was when we talked about the possibility of having dinner in her house (on the patio) in the not-too-distant future with Bb and her husband Josep. Josep, at 67, is the only one of us not to have had his first vaccine yet and he's on high alert to receive a text any day.
A banana loaf's now in the oven and the over-night soaked chickpeas are simmering away on top for the required 1.5 to 2 hours. If that sounds like something out of The Good Life to you, don't be fooled! I naively made falafels a few weeks ago with soaked chickpeas, but I hadn't cooked them for the required 1.5 to 2 hours. In fact, I hadn't cooked them at all (except the time in the oven). I remember saying on my blip that day that they were a little difficult to mash!! We did eat all the falafels though and they were delicious, but our insides must have had to go into overdrive to digest them!
