Doggie walks, cake, chat and coffee

We come to Mortonhall regularly for doggie walks and also as a meeting place to catch up with my friend Alissa. There's a fantastic horse trailer - Latte-hay - that sells good coffee and cakes etc there and it's become part of our routine.
Lissa is from The Black Isle - across the sea from where I grew up - and we have been best friends since we met at University in Glasgow more than 30 years ago.
She has now fulfilled her dream of having a dog of her own - Rhum - a fantastic black lab. She's so wary of being one of the lockdown dog owners - that's another story there, isn't it - but Rhum is the one thing she has hoped to be able to have in her life for all these years and I'm so happy for her. Our dogs get on really well - even if Henry keeps him check sometimes - and I'm grateful she lives nearby as it certainly made lockdown more bearable this time.
Anyway, today she was busy and so I took a photo of this cake for her. I'm more of a brownie girl myself........
