Neurotic cat at rest..

This is a rarity - Ellen sitting still while I take a photo. About 3 seconds after this she was off the chair and outside...

Yesterday I pruned the wisteria, which entailed being up a tall stepladder, with my head poking through the branches to reach to cut off the long whippy sprouts...
today we did yet more chopping & hacking .. and I have a right hand which has 'secateur thumb'... like tennis elbow, but lower down the limb.

But the garden is looking a bit more like a garden & less like a dead jungle.

Its because the sun shone and we thought that spring had sprung. Lets hope we don't have a severe late frost which will frighten everything that has been hitherto wrapped up in a duvet of dead leaves.
