Prawns tonight

Alex is back with the fish van after his Easter break. For the first time for months, he didn’t have anyone with him to make sure the queue was properly distanced. Indeed around here you would hardly be aware of Covid at all. There is no virus in the community (well, not that we know of), the last restrictions have been lifted, the tables are back in our local café and there’s hardly a mask to be seen.
 
Unfortunately, after we have done so well, the Government seems to have managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The rollout of the vaccines looks like a total stuff up. From trumpeting ambitious targets, the Prime Minister now won’t commit to any target at all. It looks as though most of us will be lucky to have one jab by Christmas.
