Lockdown Bonus

Last year was not a great one for me on the new plants from seed front, given all the upheaval of moving, pandemic notwithstanding.   It was also not a year for swapping plants either so as a bonus I have three plants of this rather lovely Iris suaveolens, all in flower right now.   They were raised from seed sown in Norfolk back in early 2019 and are clearly coping with life in Wales.   One in the natural soil in the garden, one in a sandy raised bed and this one in a trough, spotted leaves of an orchid plus a form of Saxifraga paniculata adding extra interest.

A busy day again.   Tim and Jamie made the raised veg bed seagull proof with a frame and netting - a seagull trampoline as Jamie put it!   I worked this morning, cleaning up and replacing all the stuff that had been moved for the last decorating job.   Delicious, Jamie made, soup for lunch then a little gardening here before another stint at work - another corridor to paint.   A treat this evening, a walk with very good friends who have a caravan at Rhydyronen, the one next to where my family's van was sited, we've known them since the children were little.   We walked up the lane where the kids and I went a week or two ago.  Tonight we watched a Kite circling just across from us, the late sunlight catching it's wings.  So red.  Magical.    The sunset glow accompanied us back down (see extra pic) and we sat outside their van drinking hot chocolate until it was pitch black.   Good times.
