Weathered Wood

A few weeks ago I was looking for 'texture' images for a club competition. I recalled having seen some very weathered doors on a local derelict cinema.

I set out to photograph them one lunchtime only to discover that the whole building has been given a facelift and put up for sale. The beautifully weathered doors had all been given a coat of black paint!

How very dare they?

Instead I managed to find this one (pictured) and entered it. The judge said it was a classic "texture" shot and awarded it 18 out of 20.

Popped back to blip it again today but only on my iPhone this time.... but you get the idea.
