Strange blossom
These ribbons hang from Sarah's Tree on the Meadows in Edinburgh, decorated as a ‘solidari-tree’. Those who tied the ribbons to the branches did so in lieu of attending an in-person vigil for Sarah Everard, who was found murdered in Kent last month.
We had headed to the Meadows for our morning walk to check how close we are to cherry blossom time. From a distance the trees are definitely reddening, but it will be a couple of weeks before they delight us with their annual display.
On our way home, and encouraged by blipped reports by Ridgeback13 and Sallymair, we picked up doughnuts in Market Street. We arrived just after opening time at 09:00am and there was already a short queue. Our purchases were delicious (and very calorific).
Over the course of the day we also put in three orders related to our photography to two different firms (all presents), popped round to Tesco to buy a couple of plants, yardened, and gardened.
Exercise today: walking (19,159 steps); gardening.
