Worker Wednesday

Missed Tractor Tuesday again, more chance of seeing a snow plough out than a farm tractor. It only snowed a little today but the cold & slight easterly freezing breeze continue to make life unpleasant outside.

Surprised to see the forest harvester and forwarder are still busy in the parish forest. Looks to me (and I haven't got a clue) as if they are doing some radical thinning work in a relatively young forest and thus cutting new logging tracks all over the place so as to be able to get to the trees with machines. Need to go back to horses!

I doubt MrB whose hunting patch is it, is too happy about the constant disturbance to his fosterlings over so many months. He was out somewhere this evening with a fellow hunter friend, I think from Memmingen. I saw their vehicles.

I noticed the commercial beekeeper who has his hives on the other side of the path from the harvester, now only has about half - looks like he lost several over the winter.
