Gamelands

This afternoon we watched another of the Westmorland Dales talks, this time about some surveying that has been carried out at Gamelands Stone Circle. As it was such a lovely day, we decide to go out and pay the Circle a visit, as we had not been there for a long while. It is our closest Stone Circle, just outside Orton. 

Since we were last there some fencing has been put up, so sheep are no longer around the stones, which is good, but it also means that one can't go up the hillside to see the whole circle, as I have done before. Never mind, it is a fine place and, as I love Stone Circles, it was good to be there.

I am not sure that the surveys, which were obviously highly technical and very detailed, have revealed any more information about the site, but the talk was interesting anyway.
