Scotland in Spring: frost on the garden this morning, wooly hat on the dog walk. By mid-day I’d recovered the parasol from the shed because it’s 18° in the sun. Meanwhile, the thermometer at the front of the house, where it’s shaded, is reading 7°. The windows are open upstairs because it’s like an oven up there, but later today we’ll need the heating on because the house will be freezing. And tonight it’s supposed to drop below zero again.

In other news: had my tetanus jab. According to the nhs records, the last one I had was in 1970. I find that very hard to believe!
