On Top of the World
Or on Rag Robin Turn (North York Moors) which is an 'Unsuitable For Motors' kind of road...
It doesn't say No Through Road, Private or like when it crosses the Cleveland Way which has the cars and motorbike restriction signs. It is however one of those roads that once you start it always seems better to keep going forward than going back.
Some of the ruts in the gravel tracks beyond this stage were quite deep but being narrow Matilda managed to run a wheel on either side with the other on the middle ridge. Some of the steep hills were a challenge but she did very well. I'm sure a few SUVs or modern '4x4s' that would have struggled.
I have added an extra of us at the very edge of the North York Moors at Kirkby Knowle. The other is as we found tarmac again at the end of Rag Robin Turn. Basically we cut across the Moors between Kepwick and Hawnby.
Again I took a video but not of the first section. It covers between Hawnby across the Moors down to Osmotherley then a final clip of us going through the ford at Brompton. It is 8 minutes long (speeded up) but I have added 2 classical guitar tracks from someone I used to know.
