Escape!

Today I escaped - visited the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Welney for the first time in 18 months. There was not a lot to see - the hides are all still out of bounds, can only walk on the footpaths - but there are birds everywhere - heard but not easily seen! It was lovely just to walk in the peace and quiet, with no dogs, met very few people, lovely sunny day - signs of summer emerging - a few butterflies but no dragonflies yet. Saw a Muntjac in the distance and lots of waterfowl on the lagoon. Then home to lunch - and accusing looks from the dogs for going out walking without them!
