RGS Business car
Finished the other business car I had - this one for the Rio Grande Southern. Bought 30 years ago! On my N scale layout, the RGS was still running a short run out of Glenwood Springs. So they needed a business car to impress investors. This particular car started as a Kato Business car, decaled for Kato with the car named "Chicago".
I removed the Kato decals, masked off the car and painted the name plate black, and applied some old RGS decals I had for "Rio Grande Southern" as well as the "Edna" name for the car. At least they fit fine on the spot I had painted. Hard to read in the extra blip but the name is there. I also installed the Kato lighting set which was ..... challenging. But I finally got it right. I had a part left to right and upside down - duh.
The final touch on the car was the "drum head" on the rear. I reduced a photo I had of the old RGS herald, printed it out, and trimmed it to size. Fit right in on the back.
The extra shows the business train visiting Craig.
Next project - on the Sn3 layout - will be the furniture and casket maker, a brewery (Dolores must have had one!), and a small steam boiler that serves both. Looking forward to making something a bit larger than N scale.
