Shovel

The shovel was put to good use today. I took this at the place where we picked up some fine mulch to put around the raised beds. G spread it around and we'll leave it to dry out a bit before I spread it evenly and tamp it down. He also added soil to some of the beds. I turned the soil in the pots for tomatoes, zucchini and cucumbers, so everything is ready now for me to add the manure tomorrow, dig it in, and let it settle for a few days before I plant the veggies. I finished pulling out the violets that had spread and other weeds. A good day in the garden.
It was a cold start to the day, frosty again, but it warmed up in the afternoon and we ate lunch alfresco. It's supposed to be warm for the rest of the week. great for working outside.
