Escape to LK

Lots of work-related conundrums spinning around in my head today, alongside a quote I read recently:"For every complex question there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong." (H. L. Mencken)

No easy answers. Yup. That's forestry. I think my principle is the right tree in the right place, and sometimes no tree at all, but figuring that out is not straightforward. And then you have to consider how you are going to stop it getting eaten or outcompeted, and how you are going to tend it over time. (Not to mention a whole host of other factors, not least paying for it all.)

I felt extremely lucky to escape for essential work today, and on such a crisp, sunny day. But I also had a lesson in humiliation, as my lack of preparedness bit me in the bum!
