Mono Monday: "Wacky"

Built probably in the mid 1800s, this summerhouse sat on the edge of what were beautiful formal gardens. Today, the whole area is heavily overgrown.

So what makes this little summerhouse wacky (apart from the surprise of suddenly coming upon it after battling your way through dense vegetation)?

- It used to be lined, inside and out, with moss - you can still see some of it, long since dried out, clinging on under old wire mesh. The summerhouse was sometimes  referred to as "the Fog House", but I have no idea whether damp moss may have been an element of that.

- It's said that at one time, a life-size mannequin was installed which would pop from the floor to give visitors a shock!
