Fen sunset

At last - a brief taste of spring! The sun shone nearly all day, and after a morning report writing and working on assignments we all decided to head off to Holme Fen for a walk - and we didn't even need our coats! It was just so lovely to feel the warmth - and we weren't the only ones making the most of the sunshine - we saw our first butterfly of the year - a red admiral.

When we arrived back at the car it was heading towards dusk, so we decided to drive round to another part of the site, where barn owls have been seen. No luck with the owls, but it was another gloriois sunset, seen here through the glistening reeds.
