Wacky? Lunacy !

Today is the official date that the IND ( Dutch immigration services) should have decided on Fumiko’s visa to stay here. They’re lagging behind, what else is new ! They have however sent a letter to the immigration lawyer asking for more information , they want official proof that Fumiko has been living  with her baby on the same address and they want proof that she has been important and has cared for her child. Family and friends can give declarations regarding this, but it won’t be seen as valuable, they would rather have declarations from outsiders. In the present situation , a year of lockdowns, even visits to the baby health care centre could only be done by one parent, so how are they going to do that? They haven’t seen anybody but us, only lately have had some contact with their neighbours. They have been trying to get Fumiko registered at the local council for months now, to no official avail so far. Without an official registration and a so-named  BurgerServiceNummer, an official personal number that every resident in The Netherlands has, it’s impossible to register with a GP surgery or file taxes , which would both count as official documentation of residency. And why oh why does a mother of a 6 month old baby need to prove that she is essential for the raising of her baby ? Utter, utter lunacy ! I’m writing an official declaration with photos of Fumiko and Jack through the past months, but I’m seething inside, I’m so mad !
