Huntley and Palmers

One of the big businesses in Reading was Huntley and Palmers biscuits.. The brown building in the photo has remained but the old site stretched through to where the new building stands today. The whole area has been revamped over the last few years and now consists of fairly exclusive flats.
I went back to work last week to prepare the shop for reopening tomorrow. All the winter stock had to be removed and new spring /summer clothing had to be sorted, tagged, priced, steamed and hung. We have put out over 800 items in readiness for what we hope will be a deluge of customers tomorrow.
I have the gin, chocolate and foot spa ready for tomorrow evening!
