Reminiscing.
Today it suddenly hit me that we are slowly moving towards some kind of 'normal', with shops opening up for one. I am struggling to keep up with all the changing rules and regulations, and what is allowed and what isn't. At least hairdressers are back in action! No more 'mañana's'. So , I kicked my
self into gear and did some clearing of the house and paperwork.
This afternoon I took myself off for a walk - To the cemetery of all places. The day before my birthday I dropped some flowers off to a friend to either keep for herself, or put on her Father's grave, as it was the anniversary of his death. Her Father was my boss when I arrived at the RAF camp all those years ago. He took me under his wing, and we became good friends, which in turn led to a close friendship with his daughter (my friend) that in turn led to our children being good friends, and now their children - 4 generations! Anyway, I've never been able to find his grave, but today I did, by looking out for the flowers I'b bought!
On the way back I walked the school walk route I did with my girls. I've always felt so lucky to have settled in such a beautiful village. This is the walk to school, and my extra is the school behind where I took this shot.
I was on the PTA at the first school, and what memories I have of the school fundraising events we had! BBQ Disco in the summer term, barn dance in the autumn term, and quiz nights in the winter. ALL of them involved copious amounts of alcohol, but lifelong friendships were formed in those days. When Jodie moved up to middle school (next door to the first school) I helped with the cross country and netball - No alcohol involved in these activities! They were the happiest of days.
