Diary of an Edinburgher

Bonnie

A slow start after last night’s soirée. Another sunny morning spent in the front garden, with lots of visitors, including one on a bike, who called in and could not wait to show us her phone selfie with Martin Compston (Line of Duty), whom she met in town.  It’s beginning to feel like normal life is slowly returning. Amazing what a few days of sunshine - and social interaction - can do for one’s general mood.

Then we all set off across the Meadows for a walk. JR, Archie and Chrissy were going further than I was, much further - right round Arthur’s Seat again - it’s ideal because Archie can be off the lead for much of the way.

I walked back over the Meadows - new large signs on lots of trees (Extra) - hope they work, after all the recent anti-social behaviour there. I had brought a spare rubbish bag with me, and on the way back I stopped to pick up lots of tiny bits of broken glass, which of course are still all over the grass.

It was still warm and sunny, so I called in on Christine, who had her sister and two nephews visiting. Not strictly following the rules, but too bad. I insisted on enjoying the sun outside, and her nephew’s wee dog, Bonnie, went through her tricks. She jumped over the flowers, and so I wanted to get a shot of this. We tried so many times - each time she’d run round, or run through or jump over a different part, but I eventually succeeded. This is a still from the video.

Then suddenly, it came over cloudy and cold. I rushed home, and it came over even colder. SNOW!! JR and Chrissy got caught in it and phoned to get the fire on!

I could not wait to get home myself, because I knew I had some more of those divine ‘Little Moons’ in the freezer. Raspberry ice cream this time. Yum yum!
