Pushing Boundaries
There are still some field boundaries marked with the remnants of old flagstones. Scapa Flow was invisible first thing through the heavy snowfall. But the snow soon got a shift (before coming again). Then a dash of warmish sunshine and haily showers. Went for a walk to Grindalay whilst someone poured another dish of silver in the Flow.
This time last year we had seventeen types of seed planted in the tunnel, with onion sets, and the tatties all planted outside. And all the borders fed. Don’t think we will make a start this year for a few days yet; the soil temp is really low. The tobacco and mango crops will be really delayed.
The Westray gritter has been put of action – apparently he had to attend a doctor’s appointment.
We have never seen so many supplicants in the Houton phone box before; however they were all wearing masks.
Can anyone in Blipland confirm the date of the demise of the Bervie Chipper?
Excitement is palpable for my big car ferry journey tomorrow; CMC is taking her accordion. The crew may mutiny.
