Wood Duck in the woods

There is a little creek that runs alongside the patch of woods that Laney and I walk through each morning. On rare occasions, when the creek is full I've seen a pair of Mallards floating around in it. And this was one of those times. But Laney kept looking up into the trees instead of down toward the ducks, and when I followed her gaze I was quite surprised to see a Wood Duck sitting on a tree limb! I learned that they make their nests in tree cavities, but I hope this one doesn't because the creek dries up in the summer time.
