Bitter and twisted

Lots of sunshine again today, tho'  cold overnight. The water in what passes for a tiny pond behind the house had a skim of ice over it this morning.

Did a bit of gardening and after lunch Mrs M and I went for a wander round the roads and ended up walking up to McCaig's Tower. Wonderful view - blue sea and even bluer sky. Always plenty to look at from here, most of the town is visible and  a wonderful backdrop of islands and mountains. Unfortunately today there was also a foreground of the remains of a meal of some sort, a curry maybe, as some kind soul had dropped the plastic boxes and other junk over the fence just where people stand to enjoy the view. How can people do this? Looks like a job for muggins tomorrow. 

Along the wall on the way out I photographed this wiggly shrub, a contorted hazel, Corylus avellana 'Contorta', otherwise know as 'Harry Lauder's Walking Stick' after the twisted stick carried by that popular Scottish singer and comedian.

My extra today is of the Fish farm vessel 'Bata nam Brathairean' and the Border Force patrol vessel 'Active' in Oban today.

Sat out on the deck with a cuppa on return, until forced indoors by encroaching clouds!
